Best Agribex innovative award for DeLaval Herd Navigator

The DeLaval herd management system collects yet another award since its launch in 2008. Herd Navigator was awarded the Golden Hoof (Gouden Hoef/Sabot d`Or) at Agribex, the biannual Brussels International Agricultural Fair
(December 1-6).

Herd Navigator is a decision making tool solution that supports dairy farmers in managing their herds, improving the cow health, reproduction efficiency, and feed control while reducing the operation costs.

“We are delighted to see Herd Navigator win again. This herd management system is a cornerstone of our Smart Farming vision where our aim is to unlock further integrated automation possibilities for the dairy industry,” DeLaval Regional President EMEA & AN JanOve Nilsson said after accepting the award at Brussel’s City Hall.

The system warns about diseases and other deviations before they actually affect the animal, so the farmer can act upon them. The system is a result of unique research developed by Lattec, in joint venture between DeLaval International and FOSS.

Herd Navigator had previously been awarded the Trophées D'OR (Gold Trophy) at Paris’ SIA in February 2009; and the three star New Product Europe award at Agromek in Denmark in January 2008.

The Brussels International Agricultural Fair with nearly 400 exhibitors attracts more than 100,000 visitors from more than 20 countries.
