The OCC – the on line cell counter for VMS – won the “InnovSpace two star award” for best innovation as well as the gold medal, INEL. D’OR at the SPACE Exhibition recently held in France.
It was during the SPACE Exhibition, France’s main dairy exhibition, that DeLaval on line cell counter OCC received the highest recognition given to a nominated product, the “InnovSpace two star award”. The award is given to a product that is “innovative and brings added value to farmers”, something the jury recognised about the DeLaval online cell counter OCC.
But that is not all. The OCC also won the gold medal INEL. D’OR for best animal welfare product.
Both awards were handed out by the main dairy magazine in France, Revue de l’éleveur laitier and DeLaval received a great deal of publicity in farm magazines, TV and web sites.
Important knowledge
The OCC is the first automatic somatic cell counter available for voluntary milking systems. With the DeLaval OCC dairy farmers gain access to a level of knowledge and control unheard of until now. It is now possible to precisely identify acute mastitis cases and closely follow-up on sub-clinical cases increasing the milk quality as well as the health and profitability of the herd.
The SPACE exhibition in Rennes, France, attracts more than 100,000 international and local visitors and is one of the largest trade fairs in the world. The event was opened by Nicolas Sarkozy, president of France.
