With nearly 300 VMS units sold during the first six months of 2005, DeLaval is now in the lead of the global Automatic Milking System market with a 53 percent market share. Over the past few years DeLaval has consistently grown its market share against their closest competition.
DeLaval’s market leading position can be put down to the professional Service network set up by the company and the DeLaval voluntary milking system VMS version 2005. The VMS 2005 model has significantly lower running costs and energy consumption than the earlier versions. Hydraulic technology powers and controls the VMS robot arm which is faster and more robust than before and the teat cup attachment is 30 percent faster. These features have won DeLaval awards at several European Dairy fairs.
“The total Automatic Milking System market has grown by 50 percent in just one year as the appeal of a better lifestyle and higher productivity is increasing. More and more farmers are choosing an automatic system like DeLaval VMS, making it the most preferred automatic milking solution on the market today”, says Thierry Perrotin Solution Manager VMS.
“It is the satisfied customers experiencing the benefits of our VMS solution who are the best proof of how well our system meets the demands of the modern dairy farmer. And our sales figures clearly confirm that”, says Joakim Rosengren, President and CEO of DeLaval International AB.
