Today DeLaval voluntary milking systems can be found in Japan, Canada, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Belgium, The Netherlands, Austria, Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Finland and Sweden.
One reason for the fast increase in sales is the reduced running costs of the latest VMS model. The overall energy consumption has been cut by 40 percent compared to one year ago. Hydraulic technology powers and controls the VMS robot arm which is now faster and more robust. The teat cup attachment is 30 percent faster than before and four optical sensors can detect the presence of blood in milk. These new features have won DeLaval several awards at recent European Dairy fairs.
