DeLaval Inc. announces the acquisition of the Intellectual property of Rota-Tech Dairy Sheds International Ltd, a New Zealand based company and leading manufacturer of heavy duty rotary milking parlour platforms in the United States.
The acquisition closing took place on November 10 at DeLaval’s regional headquarters in the US. The acquisition includes all the patents, trademarks, trade secrets, designs, manufacturing and installation know-how for Rota-Tech Dairy Sheds rotary milking parlour platforms.
John and Lois Bowers, founders of Rota-Tech Dairy Sheds had this to say regarding the sale: “In all the years we’ve been in the business we’ve worked along side DeLaval. Many of our platforms have been installed with DeLaval or DeLaval Germania milking equipment. We’ve always understood DeLaval to be the industry leader. Accordingly, we are delighted to have DeLaval take our products to the world market.”
DeLaval will offer a range of platform sizes custom designed for Holstein as well as Jersey cow sizes and equipped with various solution options such as galvanized or stainless steel construction, economical milking automation through complete automated herd management as well as stainless steel cabinetry or no cabinets at all to fit a wide range of budgets. DeLaval will manufacture some of the system components in its own factories while major platform components will continue as today to be manufactured in the Bowers’ owned and operated factory in Napier, New Zealand.
DeLaval plans to market the DeLaval Rota-Tech Heavy Duty Rotary solution throughout North America and elsewhere around the world where dairymen demand long running time reliability.
