Raising healthy calves to become strong heifers is an important part of farm management. Vulnerable calves need nurturing to achieve the desired result. Housing them in comfort in DeLaval calf hutch CH5 will provide them with a good start.
Sized for calves up to eight weeks, with a simple ventilation system and made in durable white UV resistant HDPE (high-density polyethylene thermoplastic) for a robust life outside. It withstands temperatures as low as -20°C, is shock resistant, resistant to chemicals, and has thermal isolation to maintain a good temperature inside even during winter.
It is easy to clean and thoroughly disinfect the smooth surfaces, and as the hutch is reasonably light weight it is easy to move, or to upend for easy access to internal surfaces.
Can be fitted with a hot-dipped galvanized steel U-shaped fence, to form a pen in which a calf can move around outside – for good muscle development.
