Handles extreme milk flows

The unique TF (Top-Flow) technology provides dairy producers high flow capacity with stable teat end vacuum. This is essential for good udder health and milk quality.

 

Performance requirements

All clusters are under pressure as the milk yield and flow rates from today’s modern cows increase. The flow of milk through the claw should be smooth.  As the milk flow rates increase the challenge for today’s claw designs is to minimize the vacuum fluctuations beneath the teat. This reduces the risk of damaging milk impacting the teat ends. Increasing the bowl volume of conventional clusters does not necessarily reduce the vacuum fluctuations, particularly when milking high flow animals.

As the dimensions of the cluster (claw and milk tubes) increase, handling can be more difficult. The increasing risk to the cluster’s optimum milking position is obvious.

How does TF-technology work?

The TF (Top-Flow) claw is designed to handle today’s high milk flows and minimize vacuum fluctuations beneath the teat. This is accomplished by sucking the milk from the bottom of the bowl through the vertical central pipe. A bulb-shaped centre pipe helps ensure smooth milk flow and minimal damage to the milk (low level of milk fat lipolysis).

This revolutionary design lifts the milk vertically from the bottom of the bowl. The milk is carried within the airflow to the milk line or recorder jar. There is no separation of the milk and airflow. The milk tube’s ability to carry airflow is maintained and unrestricted. This means the milking speed does not reduce the milking vacuum level in the cluster and correct liner movement is assured.

In conventional claw designs the milk passes along a horizontal outlet tube and falls to the bottom of the tube. This restricts airflow from the cluster - reducing cluster vacuum level and cluster performance.
