In the TURN-STYLES™ HBR rotary milking system individual cows move into the entry lane and wait for the entrance gate to open, from the collecting yard. The cow then moves on to the platform and into the milking position. If the rotary is an in-parlour feeding version, she will find the dispensed feed in the feed through and will be locked into position for a whole rotation. If the rotary is a non feeding version a sequence gate automatically closes behind the cow on the platform to guide her into a good milking position. This single cow traffic avoids operator stress and noise. The cow movement in the parlour is minimal.
If the milking session is not finished before the cow reaches the exit, the rotary platform must be stopped until the cows finish milking. If the milking parlour is equipped with an automatic slow down function, the rotary will slow down at a predetermined distance before the exit - giving the cow a chance to finish milking before the exit. If the milking session is still not finished by the exit, the platform will stop automatically.
When cows reach the exit, they leave the rotary platform individually and find their way through the exit lane. It is possible to locate a sorting gate (cutter gate) in the exit lane to make it possible to separate individual cows. |
