DeLaval herringbone rotary HBR

What is this?

Optimal cow flow

The DeLaval herringbone rotary HBR rotary milking system is an internal milking rotary parlour with a herringbone-type design. Rotary milking is one of the most labour effective milking parlour systems. Cow traffic is calm and always moving forward in this parlour. The cow never has to back towards the rump rail or exit area. The continuous cow flow gives high throughput.  Each cow knows when to enter the platform. The constant routine makes the cow feel safe and in many cases triggers milk let-down. The milker works without interruptions or stress because the operator does not have to assist cow flow and can concentrate on milking.

Good ergonomics

DeLaval herringbone rotary HBR system is a high-throughput, high-profit milking facility. Milkers work at a steady, comfortable pace with a good view of the udder and everything they need close by. Milkers can quickly move to another stall if needed.

Total cow comfort

The traffic management treats each cow as an individual. The entrance gate opens automatically, allowing the cow to step onto the concrete or steel deck of the platform. On a standard system, a sequence gate closes gently behind the cow and guides her into the ideal milking position. Feeding during milking is also available as an option. The cluster is held within easy reach to make attachment simple. A single or double protective rump rail provides additional peace of mind. The floor’s surface coating contributes to a safer, cleaner and brighter working environment.

High throughput

Platform rotation time is normally set to about 10 minutes, depending on the average milking time. The system can also be equipped to slow down automatically, allowing cows to finish milking before reaching the exit. Automatic cluster removal is triggered when milking is complete. Each cow exits the platform smoothly. A sorting gate can be fitted to the exit lane to separate cows when individual treatment is needed.

Reduced noise

When selecting in-parlour feeding the dispenser will let down the feed to each independent feed trough as it is passing. The wall around the platform reduces the noise from outside. In this way you avoid noise from regulators, fans, manure equipment, condensing units, etc. The electrical drive rotates the platform in a smooth and quiet manner.

Only one milker needed

Internal milking allows the milker to easily see and move to all stalls while milking is in progress. Internal milking in combination with automatic cluster removal (ACR) is suitable for plants with one milker.

Easy installation

DeLaval herringbone rotary HBR rotary milking system is built up in modules. The parlour is delivered in bolt together sections that require no site cutting or welding. This parlour is available in sizes from 16 to 40 stalls.
