Cluster removal at your fingertips
DeLaval has developed a take-off system to meet your expectations as a professional sheep and goat farmer as well as the physiological needs of your animals. Taking full advantage of modern technology, DeLaval take-off SG saves you time and money, and looks after the best interests of the individuals in your flock.
DeLaval take-off SG
DeLaval take-off SG shuts off the milking vacuum when the animal is milked out, avoiding over-milking, reducing the mastitis risk and somatic cell counts (SCC).
Half of the job - detaching the cluster - is done automatically, so milking is faster and the total milking time is reduced. Thanks to DeLaval take-off SG, over-milking concerns no longer limit the number of clusters a milker can handle. In fact a milker can handle double the number of clusters compared with a plant without take-off.
This means one milker can use a plant with more than 24 clusters. By using push buttons close to each cluster, milkers can start or stop milking, switch from automatic milking mode to manual, add extra individual milking time and switch between programs. The milking status of each animal is shown at all times via integrated LEDs. A control box with an alphanumeric keypad and display, permits easy access to set system parameters. It matches the specific conditions of each farm at different lactation periods.
Time-based system
An average individual milking time is set according to the flock’s lactation status. For animals that need longer milking, extra time is added by just pushing a button. When the set milking time is over, the system sends a signal to stop the vacuum.
Flow-based system
The flow sensor monitors milk flow during milking by measuring its resistivity. When milk flow decreases under a specified limit, it sends a signal to stop the vacuum.
