As Engineer you will have an important role in providing technical knowledge, documentation and drawings to develop and design new products as well as maintaining existing products with the same. You will play a key role in supporting the Portfolio to optimize its market offering, assortment and financial return across the product life cycle predominantly in the areas of cow comfort and ventilation and illumination system development. In this position will work closely with Product management, Sourcing, external suppliers as well as other DeLaval manufacturing entities globally. International travelling is required, excellent English skills are mandatory.
Key responsibilities
- Creating technical requirement profiles for systems and individually traded products, as well as the respective technical component specification
- System integration of different products
- Creating technical documentation / drawings for existing and new products to be used both internally and externally
- Establishment, verification, monitoring and tracking of molds and tools owned by DeLaval but also externally owned.
- Monitoring and tracking of compliance of defined specifications for individual components as well as traded products from external suppliers
- Technical support of purchasing and product management
- Technical validation of test installations
- Checking and preparing the technical feasibility of solutions
- Creating new product ideas, from idea generation, over prototyping into test installations and documentation
- Product improvements as well as active product life cycle management for instance rede-signing both in terms of functionality and design
- Supporting enhanced product development under the header of sustainability
Qualification
- University degree in agricultural or mechanical engineering
- Minimum two years of relevant work experience as engineer, designer or within product development
- Product development and project management education
- PC and CAD skills
- Ability to create ideas and to transform them from practical prototyping, experimental works, to a ready product with major focus on result
