“For us, sustainability means reliable equipment that will not need to be changed quickly, that is easy to maintain and that supports expansion plans.”
Ferme Champagne et frères expanded their operations and more than doubled their milking speed by upgrading their DeLaval milking system.

Ferme Champagne et frères has been using DeLaval solutions for over 10 years. “We started with a parlor in 1968 and upgraded to a DeLaval system in 2007. We decided to change our milking system to facilitate our expansion plans and increase efficiency," says the Champagne family. With the installation of a 30-stall DeLaval Rotary milking system HBR, they added, “We are now able to milk 150 cows per hour compared to 60 with our old system.”

The farm relies on sand bedding, plastic stalling, ventilation and DeLaval SCB swinging cow brushes to keep their herd comfortable and productive. The family shares, “DeLaval brushes are what you need to keep your cows happy. We measure our profitability by how many kilos our cows can produce.”
This third generation dairy, managed by five owners, boasts a team of 12 full and part-time employees. “We stay loyal to DeLaval because of the innovation and because of the service we get from our dealership,” the Champagne family concluded. “In the future, there will be big changes, but it will be for the better because it will be different.”
