Robots multiplying at Buckinghamshire farm
DeLaval VMS V310 milking robots were chosen by Chilton Home Farms Ltd manager Mark Woodin to milk the 250 herd of Holsteins in 2023 to manage 2 herds across 2 farms. The installation was carried out by specialists TH White following Mr Woodin’s decision to install five of the robots with the aim of growing the herd to 280.
Grazing system boosts milk for organic farm
Building a new shed, installing three DeLaval robots and implementing a unique grazing system has seen an organic farm increase its milk yield by 15 percent over the last five years. The hybrid grazing and automated milking system has also improved cow health and enabled the herd to spend more time at pasture.
One-man parlour provides fixed cost-benefit
Installing a new MidiLine parlour has more than halved standing time, reduced mastitis cases, improved foot health and increased yield. It has also brought back a Welsh family’s love of milking by making the process enjoyable again and reducing costs to help cope with falling milk prices.

New robot pushes up milk yield
Following the decision to build a new shed in 2023, Howard Edwards chose to take advantage of the Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF) to automate feed pushing with a DeLaval OptiDuo robot. Oldest DeLaval VMS Milking System in the world
On the 21st of June 2000 the Van Kempen - Van Diepenbeek family started robotic milking at the current location in Biddinghuizen, The Netherlands. Twenty years, 1.9 million milkings and about 20 million litres of milk later, both DeLaval VMS milking robots are still working on the farm. This makes them the oldest working DeLaval robots in the world. "When we started, automatic milking was still in its early stages and - together with DeLaval - we had to discover a lot," says a proud father Jos van Kempen.

Grassland Milking Convention
