DeLaval takes new strides to make organic milk production easier for producers

The Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) is an international nonprofit organization that determines which input products are allowed for use in organic production and processing. OMRI ensures that manufactured goods are compliant with the USDA National Organic Standards in the US, reviewing all ingredients in the product, how those ingredients are manufactured, and all labels of the product.  Once approved, the product goes in their database as OMRI Listed® and the OMRI logo can be placed on a product label. The OMRI logo on our products is a seal of commitment to our organic dairy farmers.

Environmental responsibility and sustainability are key values for DeLaval, making this initiative an important stepping stone.  Furthermore, all of DeLaval’s OMRI listed farm products are NPE free!  By being proactive and getting products OMRI-listed for organic use, DeLaval hopes to make it easier for the organic producer to navigate through the process of continuing their organic production or becoming an organic producer. DeLaval is committed to supporting organic producers with milk quality solutions to help keep cows healthy and systems clean.

Currently, 6 teat dips and 7 CIP products are OMRI listed in the US, of which 8 are VMS approved!  To see our full organic offering, click here.
