Applications are now open for the Gustaf de Laval Fund 2026, supporting research that advances sustainable precision dairy farming. Through funding and collaboration with DeLaval experts, the initiative helps students and researchers develop practical solutions that can make a difference on farms around the world.

Applications are now open for the Gustaf de Laval Fund – our long‑running and popular initiative that supports master’s and PhD students worldwide through funding and close collaboration with DeLaval researchers. 🎉
This year’s theme is sustainable precision dairy farming.
What do we mean by sustainable precision dairy farming? The use of sensor technologies, data analytics, and automation to monitor and manage milk production, reproduction, and cow health and welfare. Continued research plays a key role in ensuring that these technologies – and how they are applied – support dairy farmers in achieving efficient herd management and productivity, while also improving environmental sustainability and animal welfare.
Focus areas for 2026
• Animal health and welfare
• Milking efficiency
• Reproduction management
Projects that connect advanced technology with real‑world application and practical decision‑making are strongly encouraged.
💶 Funding / co‑funding available: up to €15,000 per project
🗓 Application deadline: 30 May 2026
