Importance of Supplier Quality
Achieving this level of excellence is not possible without strong performance across our entire supply chain. Supplier quality is therefore critical, as external partners directly impact the integrity, reliability, and consistency of our final products. Deficiencies in supplier quality can lead to production disruptions, increased costs, customer dissatisfaction, and reputational damage.
Therefore building strong collaboration, clear expectations, and quality standards with suppliers ensures alignment with our company goals.
In the event of a non-conformity to agreed standards and requirements, the Supplier is responsible for managing the issue. The Supplier is expected to conduct a thorough root cause analysis and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
At DeLaval, we use the 8D methodology for problem-solving, ensuring a structured and systematic approach to managing quality issues. Therefore, the Supplier will be required to complete an 8D report (to be published soon).
