MADISON, WI (October 2, 2019) – For 36 years and counting, DeLaval has been supporting the next generation of dairy producers through a donation to the National 4-H Dairy Conference. This year’s donation of $8,500 was made possible through sales of select DeLaval milk quality solutions. The contribution from DeLaval enhances opportunities for dairy youth both at the conference and throughout the year.
“At DeLaval, we are heavily invested in the next generation of the dairy industry,” says Fernando Cuccioli, Executive Vice President, DeLaval Cluster Americas. “We know this is important because we have seen – through our own employees’ work ethic and leadership skills – the lasting impact that 4-H has on our industry’s youth.”

More than 180 youth from across North America typically attend the conference, held each year in conjunction with World Dairy Expo. The National 4-H Dairy Conference is the place where leading dairy youth from across North America meet, interact and build industry bridges that will last well into the future.
According to Rel Seykora, National 4-H Dairy Conference Secretary, the DeLaval donation will help increase conference attendance and the quality of the presenters, as well as sustain the conference into the future. “Thanks to DeLaval, we are able to provide scholarships for our youth to attend the conference and make it the best possible experience for them. We are very grateful for the support over all these years,” Seykora says.
DeLaval has been the highest-level sponsor of the conference for many years, thanks to the producers from around the United States who purchase the solutions included in the promotion each year. 2019 is the fourth year that producers have enhanced the support of the conference.
“It’s a good fit for us, with our mission to make sustainable food production possible,” Cuccioli says. “We’re proud to lend support to the coming generations, not only to fulfill our mission, but also to help sustain the dairy industry as a whole in coming years.”
