Vos Dairies Becomes Canada’s First to Embrace DeLaval VMS™ Batch Milking
PETERBOROUGH, Ont. (16 December 2025) — DeLaval announced a major step forward for robotic milking with the first DeLaval VMS Batch Milking project sold in Canada.
Vos Dairies, located in Manitoba, faced staffing challenges with their conventional milking system and sought a solution that would reduce labour without transitioning to voluntary milking. They preferred to maintain a structured cow flow and facility management style, making DeLaval VMS Batch Milking the perfect fit.
“VMS Batch Milking combines automation with the structure of conventional milking,” said Jason French, Solution Manager at DeLaval North America. “Producers looking for the consistency and data output of robotic milking can incorporate batch milking and still maintain their existing routines while improving the working environment.”
This winter, Vos Dairies will begin installation of 14 DeLaval VMS V300 units, with the facility expected to begin robotically milking cows in groups in the spring of 2026.

“We are excited to see this project come to life,” said Jasper Vos, owner of Vos Dairies. “With VMS Batch Milking, we will be able to do more for our herd with less labour. It’s a win-win!”
This new order in Canada highlights the growing global interest in DeLaval VMS Batch Milking as farms around the world choose this innovative solution. In the U.S., Rancho Pepper Dairy in Texas has been batch milking 2,200 cows with 22 DeLaval VMS V300 since 2022.
